Ugo Cappellacci

Ugo Cappellacci (born November 27, 1960 in Cagliari ) is a Sardinian politician .

He completed his studies at the University of Cagliari . He then specialized in business administration at the Luigi Bocconi University of Economics in Milan and at the LUISS University in Rome . Between 2003 and 2008, Cappellacci held various regional and local offices in Sardinia.

In the regional elections on February 15 and 16, 2009 regional elections, he was elected president of the Sardinia region as a representative of the center-right coalition around the Popolo della Libertà party. In February 2014 he had to admit defeat to his social democratic challenger Francesco Pigliaru in the direct election .
