The Uhlhorn plaque is an award of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hanover , which is given for outstanding service in the diaconate .

Foundation, endowment

The award was donated by the former regional bishop Hanns Lilje . It may only be awarded if both the regional bishop and the president and director of the Diakonisches Werk agree. It commemorates the former senior consistorial councilor and abbot of the Loccum monastery , Gerhard Uhlhorn .
