Eckhart von Vietinghoff

Eckhart Freiherr von Vietinghoff (born October 7, 1944 in Göttingen ) is a German lawyer.

Life

Von Vietinghoff studied law and received his doctorate . From 1974 to 1980 he was in the higher administrative service, was from 1980 to 1984 City Director in Hildesheim and from 1984 to 2008 President of the Hanover Regional Church Office of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hanover . From 1985 to 1991 and from 1997 to 2003 von Vietinghoff was a member of the Council of the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD) , since 1990 chairman of several committees and working groups of the EKD, since 1993 honorary senator of the Hannover Medical School and was a member of the university council from 2003 to 2010 the Leibniz University of Hanover. He is a legal knight of the Order of St. John . Vietinghoff was awarded the Uhlhorn badge in 2011 . Since 2010 he has been chairman of the board of the Foundation for the Preservation of Church Monuments in Germany .
