Karl Wagenmann (lawyer)

Karl Wagenmann (born August 18, 1905 in Bleckede ; † November 20, 1982 in Hanover ) was a German church administration lawyer and president of the regional church office of the Evangelical Lutheran regional church of Hanover .

Life

Wagenmann received his doctorate after studying law in 1928 with a thesis on compulsory parish law under Protestant church law . In 1932 he joined the church administration, first in Berlin , then in Königsberg (Prussia) . In 1933 he became a member of the regional church office in Hanover, where in 1936 he took over the finance department. In 1952 he became president of the regional church office and was significantly involved in the work for the new church constitution of the regional church. In 1970 he retired.

After the establishment of the Evangelical Academy in Loccum, Wagenmann became its treasurer. He was also chairman of the supervisory board of the Hanoverian life insurance and chairman of the board of the Clementinenhaus in Hanover. He wrote several publications on canon law and ecclesiastical administration. Wagenmann died in 1982 and was buried in the Engesohde city cemetery in Hanover.
