Ukert is an impact crater on the front of the moon between Sinus Medii and Mare Vaporum , northwest of the Triesnecker crater and east of Bode .
The shape of the crater is irregular and the interior is uneven.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the German historian Friedrich August Ukert .
East of Ukert, when the moon is about 6.7 days old , shortly before reaching the first quarter of the moon , the visual effect Lunar V can be observed on the moon terminator .
