Ulead PhotoImpact was an image processing program that was sold until 2009, ran under Windows operating systems and was tailored to home users.
description
The user could edit and alienate digitized images with PhotoImpact. Using TWAIN interfaces, it was possible to call up individual images directly from the scanner or digital camera . In PhotoImpact, filters for image distortion, which were available in Photoshop format, could be integrated in order to increase the possibilities of image processing. With an assistant the user could create his own homepage .
PhotoImpact was in the same market segment as PaintShop Pro and served the same target group. In tests in computer magazines, these two programs and the possibilities they offer for the user were compared directly.
The Ulead company was taken over by InterVideo and then by Corel in autumn 2006 , ostensibly to round off its product range.
The End
According to Corel , version X3 was the last version of PhotoImpact. Before Ulead, Corel had already taken over Jasc Software and with it Paint Shop Pro in 2004 . After the takeover of Ulead, PhotoImpact became its own competitor. This dual track ended in 2009.
Some elements of PhotoImpact can be found in PaintShop Pro X3.
