Ulf Thiele (born April 8, 1971 in Leer in East Friesland ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

Life

After graduating from high school and doing military service, he trained as a publishing clerk. He then studied business administration at the University of Osnabrück .

In 1987 he joined the Junge Union and in 1991 the CDU. At the JU he was a member of the state executive for several years, most recently as deputy state chairman. Since 1998 he has been a member of the CDU state board in Lower Saxony . From 2006 to 2017 he was general secretary of the state party.

Thiele has been a member of the district council in the Leer district since 1991, where he is deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group.

Since 2003 he has been a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament. He was elected directly in the Leer constituency. Since 2017 he has been deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group with responsibility for finances as well as federal and European affairs.

Ulf Thiele is fluent in East Frisian Platt and is committed to preserving the language.

Ulf Thiele has two sons and has been married to his wife Olga for the second time since 2018. He lives in Remels , municipality of Uplengen .
