The constituency 83 Leer is a constituency for the election of the Lower Saxony state parliament . It includes the city of Leer , the communities of Ostrhauderfehn , Rhauderfehn , Uplengen and the combined communities of Hesel and Jümme .
In the course of reducing the number of constituencies in Lower Saxony for the 2008 state elections, the constituency was redesigned. However, there was only one area swap with the constituency of Leer / Borkum , which received the municipality of Moormerland from the constituency of Leer (at that time still with number 91) and gave Rhauderfehn and Ostrhauderfehn in return. Both before and after the area swap, both constituencies jointly covered the area of the district of Leer.
