Waaxens ( West Frisian Waaksens ) is a small village in the municipality of Noardeast-Fryslân in the Dutch province of Friesland . Like Brantgum and Foudgum, it is on the way from Holwerd to Dokkum and has 35 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017).

Until the municipal reform in 1984, Waaxens was part of Westdongeradeel.

On the Terpe von Waaxens there is a church from the 14th century , which is influenced by the Gothic .
