The constituency of Grafschaft Bentheim is an electoral district for the Lower Saxony state parliament . With the cities of Bad Bentheim and Nordhorn , the municipality of Wietmarschen and the combined municipalities of Emlichheim , Neuenhaus and Uelsen, its territory covers almost the entire county of Bentheim . Only the municipality of Schüttorf belongs to the constituency of Lingen .

From 1982 to 1998 the constituency with the same area was called Wahlkreis Nordhorn . In 2003, however, its area was greatly reduced. The entire municipalities were assigned to the Emlichheim constituency , which only existed for one electoral period.

The constituency is considered the stronghold of the CDU .
