The constituency of Walsrode (until 1998 constituency Fallingbostel ) is a constituency for the election of the Lower Saxony state parliament . It is located in the south of the Heidekreis district and includes the cities of Walsrode and Bad Fallingbostel , the communities Bomlitz (until 2017) and Wietzendorf , the joint communities of Ahlden , Rethem and Schwarmstedt and the community-free district of Osterheide . The constituency is divided into 92 electoral districts.
history
In the state elections from 1947 up to and including 1998, at that time still without the municipality of Wietzendorf, the constituency was named Wahlkreis Fallingbostel .
From 1947 to the 1978 election, the constituency was number 51, between 1982 and 1998 it was number 56; after a further adjustment of the constituency division, the constituency was number 54 in 2003. Since the 2008 election it has had constituency number 43.

State election 2017
The early state election 2017 took place on October 15, 2017. Six direct candidates ran in the constituency of Walsrode. Sebastian Zinke ( SPD ) won the direct mandate . Long-time member of the state parliament Gudrun Pieper ( CDU ) was defeated, but moved back into the state parliament via the state list. 55,024 people were eligible to vote in the constituency, and the turnout was 63.8 percent.
