The constituency of Lüneburg is a constituency for the election of the Lower Saxony state parliament . From the district of Lüneburg it includes the city of Lüneburg and the municipalities of Amelinghausen , Bardowick and Gellersen . In the state elections in 2008 , the municipality of Adendorf was also part of the constituency.

State election 2008

For the state elections in Lower Saxony in 2008 , seven direct candidates ran in the constituency of Lüneburg. The directly elected MP is Bernd Althusmann ( CDU ). After the current Minister of Education and Cultural Affairs Althusmann accepted the office of State Secretary in the Lower Saxony Ministry of Education on June 16, 2009 , he resigned his mandate. Lower Saxony's minister of education, Elisabeth Heister-Neumann, replaced him in the state parliament.
