Gudrun Pieper (born July 4, 1956 in Lüneburg ) is a German politician ( CDU ). She has been a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament since 2008 .

Life

education and profession

After finishing school in 1976, Gudrun Pieper began training as an educator with a technical diploma at the technical college for social pedagogy in Lüneburg. In 1977 she received state recognition as an educator . In this job she was employed at the Bothmer children's home from 1976 to 1978 . From 1978 to 1984 she took a family break.

From 1984 Pieper was an educator and deputy home manager at the Center for Applied Education and Psychology in Bomlitz . In 1987 she took over the management of the day care center in Lindwedel . In 1992 she became director of the integrative day care center Therese von Plato in Walsrode and from 1993 to 1994 she took part in an additional qualification as a curative education specialist.

From 1998, Pieper led the Heilpädagogische daycare Rainbow in Hannover-Anderten . In addition to her job, she completed a qualification measure in social and quality management from 2002 to 2005.

politics

Pieper has been a member of the CDU since 1998 and has been chairwoman of the CDU district association Soltau-Fallingbostel since August 1, 2011 ( Heidekreis ). She is also a member of the board of directors of the CDU district of Northeast Lower Saxony. Pieper has been a councilor for the Schwarmstedt community and also deputy mayor of the Schwarmstedt community since 2001 . She has also been a member of the district council of the Heidekreis district since 2001 . In the 2008 state elections, she entered the Lower Saxony state parliament through a direct mandate in constituency 43 (Walsrode) .

Pieper caused an uproar there on December 7, 2011 when, during a debate on the refugee policy of the Turkish-born Green MP, Filiz Polat, she shouted: "The best thing would have been to deport you." Pieper apologized, but even media close to the Union like Die Welt rated the statement as racist. Other media also judged Pieper's statement critically or established a connection to racism.

In the state elections in 2013, she again moved into the Lower Saxony state parliament via the direct mandate in constituency 43.

Private

Pieper is married and has one grown son.
