Gunter Henn (born February 2, 1947 in Dresden ) is a German architect and university professor . He has made a name for himself internationally in particular as an architect of research, production and administration buildings.

biography

Family, training, apprenticeship

Gunter Henn is the son of the architect and university professor Walter Henn (1912-2006). From 1967 to 1971 he studied civil engineering at the ETH Zurich , the Technical University of Munich and the Technical University of Berlin , where he graduated in 1972 with a degree in engineering . He received his doctorate from the Technical University of Munich, where he studied architecture from 1972 to 1975 and also graduated with a diploma.

Since 1994 he has been visiting professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Cambridge, USA) and from 2000 to 2015 he was professor for industrial construction at the Technical University of Dresden .

job

From 1979 to 1989 he worked in an office partnership with his father at HENN + HENN Architects . Since 1990 he has been running the HENN Architekten office alone, with offices in Munich , Berlin and Beijing .
