Ulrika "Ulla" Lovisa Tessin (born May 23, 1711 in Stockholm as Ulrika Lovisa Sparre ; † December 14, 1768 at Åkerö Castle , municipality of Flen ) was a Swedish lady-in-waiting , court master and countess .

Life

As the daughter of Reichsrat and Field Marshal Count Erik Sparre af Sundby and Stina Lillie, Ulla Tessin married the diplomat Carl Gustaf Tessin on August 27, 1727 and followed her husband on trips to Vienna (1735–36), Copenhagen and Paris (1739–41) as well 1744 to Berlin . She was considered artistically gifted and expanded her social contacts during her husband's diplomatic duties.

In the 1730s Ticino and her husband were active in the amateur theater in Stockholm and participated in performances. Ulla Tessin was a close friend and favorite of Crown Princess Luise Ulrike von Prussia . When she became Queen of Sweden in 1751, she appointed Ulla Tessin her chief stewardess. The correspondence between the two women is preserved in the Reich Archives.
