Ullersdorf (desert)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ullersdorf describes the desolation of a settlement from the early 13th century between Pobershau and Rübenau in the central Ore Mountains .

location

The area, which is densely wooded through the war forest, is located on a stream flowing west of the Schwarzen Pockau , about 2.5 kilometers southeast of the defunct weir system of Raubschloss Liebenstein .
The area can be the best of the running east State Road 217 Ansprung -Rübenau and reach further from there on foot along forest trails.

description

With an altitude of more than 700 meters, the desert is considered the highest relic of the settlement period in the Ore Mountains. The area extends along a brook, which is recorded on old maps as Ullersdorfer Bach . The topography allows it to be interpreted as a forest hoof village. In the forest floor, a presumable house location, ovens and several paths stand out.

Collective finds from random earth outcrops date from 1200 to well into the 14th century.
With some probability, Ullersdorf belongs to the Liebenstein weir system. It is assumed that the weir system acted as a local base in the colonization process. Weir and settlement are considered to be the furthest advanced posts in a room in which - apparently favored by a Bohemian path - settlement began in the second half of the 12th century.
