Ulrich Berger (economist)

Ulrich Berger (born July 15, 1970 in Steyr , Upper Austria ) is an Austrian economist.

life and work

After studying mathematics at the University of Vienna (Mag. Rer. Nat. 1995, Dr. rer. Nat. 1998), he was also awarded a doctorate at the Vienna University of Economics in 2004. rer. soc. oec. PhD and habilitation in economics in 2006.

In 2006 he was a professor at the LMU Munich ; He has been a professor since 2011 and heads the Institute for Analytical Economics at the Vienna University of Economics and Business . His research interests include game theory and network economics .

Berger campaigns against the spread of pseudosciences . He is chairman of the Society for Critical Thinking (GkD) and a member of the Skeptics Organization Society for the Scientific Investigation of Parasciences (GWUP). He runs the blog Kritisch Gedacht at the science blog portal ScienceBlogs .
