Ulrich Brixner

Ulrich Brixner (born January 6, 1941 in Munich ; † February 15, 2009 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German manager and former CEO of DZ Bank .

Life

Brixner studied at the universities of Tübingen , Saarbrücken and Mannheim Business Administration . He finished his studies in Mannheim in 1966 as a business graduate, three years later he also received his doctorate in Mannheim.

After completing his studies, he joined DG BANK in 1969 , but soon after switched to the Management Board of SGZ-Bank . He merged this bank with GZB Stuttgart , which resulted in GZ-Bank . After the merger of DG Bank with GZ Bank, DZ Bank was created , where he was CEO. On September 15, 2006, he handed over this position to Wolfgang Kirsch .

On November 4, 2004, Brixner was awarded an honorary doctorate from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Karlsruhe .

Brixner was the chairman of the board of the EBS Foundation, which is responsible for sponsoring and promoting the European Business School . He was also a member of the Board of Directors of Landwirtschaftliche Rentenbank .
