Ulrich Geltinger

Ulrich Geltinger (von Althausen) (also Göltinger) (died after 1516 ) was a nurse and district judge in Schärding and involved in the settlement of feuds in the Duchy of Austria above the Enns . Together with his nephew Oswald, he owned the Obereitzing estate .

origin

Ulrich Geltinger's ancestors came from the village of Gelting near Wallern an der Trattnach . After serious differences with their feudal lords, the Counts of Schaunberg , they were forced to tear down their ancestral home. She later enfeoffed Duke Albrecht with the seat of Haiding.

Life

In 1476 Ulrich Geltinger bought the seat and estate of Obereitzing from his sister after the death of Thoman Eitzinger (on Obereitzing) . As the master of “both seats in Eitzing”, he was Mautner, caretaker and district judge of Schärding , and due to his offices he was often entrusted with fighting feuds.

family

Ulrich Geltinger was married several times. Martha (a daughter of Thomas Pfnurr), over whose grave he had a chapel built in the Schärdinger cemetery, Magdalena (a daughter of Stephan Geumann, whose family played a role in Gallspach ) and Anna are proven to be his wives Years survived. Barbara, a daughter from the marriage with Anna, was promised Wolf von Tannberg, but died before the marriage.

His nephew Oswald (died 1536, buried in St. Lazarus in Regensburg), initially the fief of the widow Anna, inherited the rule of Obereitzing. 1517–1521 he was district judge in Eggenfelden . He was married to Barbara, who came from the Ambsheim family. In 1538 he sold the Obereitzing estate to Georg Baumgartner.
