Ulrich Kemp

Ulrich Kemp (born May 23, 1961 in Düsseldorf ) is a German manager and entrepreneur . Among other things, he was COO of T-Systems Business Service from October 2004 to January 2008 .

Career

After completing his training as a business graduate at Saarland University , Kemp worked for 13 years in various management positions at Hewlett Packard . In 1993, he became a member of the Hewlett Packard Presidents Club, receiving the company's highest sales award in the world. From 1998 to March 2000, as General Manager Personal Computer and Information Storage, he was in charge of all sales and marketing activities for these areas in Germany. In March 1999 he also became a member of the management team in Germany. In March 2000 he took over the post of General Manager Large Account Business in Europe. Until the end of his tenure at Hewlett Packard in December 2000, Kemp was European manager of the business unit responsible for Internet startups.

In 2001, Kemp moved to Fujitsu-Siemens Computers as managing director of the German sales company, where he succeeded Achim Berg . During his activity, the company's profit increased. The 2001/02 financial year was thus able to close with a profit for the first time since its foundation. In the following years 2003 and 2004 the profit was further multiplied. After four years with the IT manufacturer, Kemp switched to the Telekom subsidiary T-Systems in October 2004 at his own request .

From October 2004 to January 2005, Kemp was Chief Sales and Service Manager at T-Systems Business Service, before taking on the newly created role of Head of Sales. As Chief Operating Officer ( COO ) of T-Systems Business Service, he managed the operational business. As part of his work, he was responsible for the telecommunications and IT business with 160,000 mainly medium-sized business customers of Deutsche Telekom and also a member of the T-Systems management.

Before he resigned at his personal request in January 2008, he was able to achieve above-average growth rates.

After retiring from T-Systems, Kemp initially took a personal break before taking up the post as COO at LG Electronics in October 2008. There he took on operational marketing and sales responsibility for all product areas, including home entertainment, mobile communication, business solutions, home appliances and air conditioning. Under his responsibility, the company's sales increased u. a. in the crisis year 2009, contrary to the industry trend, by 41%. During his time at the German regional company of the Korean company LG, Kemp also learned Korean. In 2011, Kemp resigned from his post due to personal reasons. His decision was regretted by the company.

Since 2011, Kemp has been a founder, shareholder and active consultant at various companies: Work and Vision GmbH, Osmot Eco-Light GmbH, Osmot Powertoys GmbH, Cittadino GmbH, Manticore RC GmbH, Health Balance GmbH, Kemp Marketing and Sales, Cheny & Friends , Dr. Selma Uygun, gurumB GmbH and UnitedCrowd GmbH.

Kemp is divorced and lives with his son in Meerbusch .
