Ulrich Nellessen

Ulrich Nellessen (born May 6, 1952 in Hamm ) is a German medic.

After graduating from the Stormarn School in Ahrensburg , he studied human medicine in Kiel . After researching at the University of Hanover and Stanford University , where he worked with Norman Shumway , he accepted a position as senior physician in Kiel. After completing his habilitation, he was appointed to the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg .

On January 1, 2016, Nellessen became the full-time medical director of the Johanniter Hospital Genthin-Stendal, after having previously been the chief physician of the cardiology department there since 1996 and performing the role of medical director on an honorary basis. He retired with effect from September 1, 2019.

Nellessen was also president of 1. FC Lok Stendal from 2008 to 2019 .

He is the author of several specialist books.
