Ulrich Oertli

Ulrich Oertli (born January 12, 1890 in St. Gallen ; † June 17, 1954 in Lucerne ; legal resident in St. Gallen and Teufen ) was a Swiss lawyer from the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden .

Life

Johann Konrad Oertli was a son of August Oertli and Sophie Huber. He married Emma Loppacher. He attended high school in St. Gallen. He then studied law in Zurich , Bern , Berlin and Paris . In 1913 he obtained a doctorate in law. He worked as a lawyer in St. Gallen. At the Swiss Accident Insurance Fund (SUVA) in Lucerne, he was a legal expert from 1920 to 1922 and head of the legal department from 1922 to 1942. From 1942 to 1949 he was promoted to vice director. From 1949 to 1954 he was director of the Swiss Accident Insurance Fund (SUVA). Various changes in the legislation of the accident insurance and in practice the institution due to Oertli initiative. These include an increase in insured earnings and better compensation for survivors . He presided over the Swiss Advice Center for Accident Prevention.
