Ulrich Pletscher

Ulrich Pletscher ; also called Ueli Pletscher (born November 23, 1974 in Bülach ) is a Finnish-Swiss saxophone , clarinet and duduk player . He deals with film, dance and theater music.

Life

Pletscher was born with Finnish-Swiss dual citizenship and lives in Basel . After studying musicology at the University of Zurich from 1997 to 1998, he studied music at the Basel Jazz School on tenor saxophone with Domenic Landolf until 2000 , then multimedia studies at the Bern University of Music and Theater in 2001 , then saxophone lessons with Andy Scherrer and up In addition to his teaching diploma in 2003, he studied music at the Music Academy of the City of Basel , Jazz department on tenor saxophone with Domenic Landolf and Dani Blanc . Pletscher obtained a diploma in education and performance, has also been studying classical Indian music with Hariprasad Chaurasia since December 2003 and also plays soprano saxophone , clarinet , accordion and duduk .

Act

Since 1998 Pletscher has been a freelance musician, composer, clarinetist and saxophonist in the groups "CAS", "FiDO", "Prekmurski Kavbojci", "March 15", "Me, Me, Me", "Fanny Anderegg Quartet" and "Niculin Christen Quartet" “In 2003 he took over the production of the music for a dance performance in Ljubljana, Slovenia. 2004 was a production of ring tones for logophone and 2007 followed the publication of a book on unconventional and alternative playing techniques for saxophone. In 2007 he also made music for the short film "Making Art" by Jantoniabr. Commercial music for uko followed in 2008; he currently works as a musician at the Stadttheater Basel and gives concerts.

Pletscher composes for television, film, dance and theater. He speaks German (as mother tongue) and fluent English, French, Italian and Swedish.
