Ulrich Widmaier (lawyer)

Ulrich Widmaier (born May 8, 1943 in Stuttgart ) is a German lawyer , former judge at the Federal Administrative Court (Germany) and honorary professor at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich .

Career

Widmaier studied law at the University of Heidelberg and the University of Göttingen . His legal training ended in 1973 with the Second State Examination. In 1975 he was at the University of Göttingen with an investigation for staff representation rights to Dr. iur. PhD. Widmaier initially worked for the Baden-Württemberg Metal Industry Association and the Württemberg State Insurance Company. In 1978 he was transferred to the state capital Stuttgart, where he was most recently the chief city ​​law director.

On April 2, 1990, Widmaier was appointed judge at the Federal Administrative Court, where he was assigned to the 2nd Military Service Senate. Since November 2002 Widmaier has been deputy chairman of this senate. From 1990 to 1994 Widmaier was also a member of the 1st Military Service Senate.

Since September 1999 Widmaier has been honorary professor at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich. He is also co-author of a commentary on federal staff representation law.

On May 31, 2008, Widmaier retired as a judge.
