Ulrike von Ribbeck (* 1975 in Minden ) is a German director .

Life

Ulrike von Ribbeck studied visual communication at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Hamburg (HfbK) and then directing at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin . Her short films Am See and Charlotte were shown alongside the Berlin Film Festival at the Festival de Film de Cannes and have received several international awards.

With her first feature film project Sooner or Later she was the only German invited to the Atelier de la Cinéfondation in Cannes; The feature film premiered in 2007 at the Locarno International Film Festival and at numerous other festivals. The main actress of the film, Lola Klamroth , received a lot of attention from the film and was nominated for numerous actor awards, such as the Studio Hamburg Young Talent Award 2010. Ulrike von Ribbeck adapted Iris Hanika's novel "Meet Two" together with Ruth Rehmet. In 2015 the film was shot in Berlin, directed by Ulrike von Ribbeck. Nicolette Krebitz and Clemens Schick play the leading roles in the modern metropolitan love story.
