Ultima Thule Records , also UT Records , is a Swedish independent label that was founded by the band Ultima Thule to escape the boycott at the beginning of the 1990s, which began because it was classified as a racist band. Since then, other bands have appeared on the label.

history

In the mid-1990s, Ultima Thule were one of the most successful bands in their home country. Three albums went gold and the band's releases hit the Swedish charts. With the onset of success, the group's past was also examined more closely. Bert Karlsson , who had signed the band, came under fire as a co-founder of the right-wing Ny Demokrati party . Ultimately, he was forced to terminate the contract with Ultima Thule.

With the money generated, Ultima Thule were able to buy a recording studio, which was destroyed by an arson attack on February 11, 2000, and set up their own label. In addition to their own releases, the band also released albums by Midgårds Söner and Hel . The release of the band Heroes was explosive, behind it the follow-up project of the right-wing rock band Dirlewanger , named after the National Socialist Oskar Dirlewanger .
