Umberto Malvano (born July 17, 1884 in Moncalieri , † September 15, 1971 in Milan ) was an Italian football player , referee and functional and engineer .
life and career
Umberto Malvano was one of the group of 13 students from the Turin Massimo-d'Azeglio high school who founded the Juventus football club on November 1, 1897 . The offensive player played 14 championship games until 1904, in which he scored five goals for Juve .
After doing his military service in Pavia , Malvano was signed by AC Milan in 1905 , where he played as a left winger. In 1906 he won the second Italian championship in the club's history with the Rossoneri after Juventus Turin, who were opponents of Milan in the playoffs , failed to appear in protest against the second game being played in Milan .
After 1906 Umberto Malvano studied engineering . Before the First World War he was also active as a referee , shortly after the war he was Vice President of the Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio (FIGC) under Luigi Bozino .
Umberto Malvano died on September 15, 1971 at the age of 87 in Milan.
