Umbrella is a free , web-based project management software .

In contrast to proprietary collaboration tools , Umbrella is developed as open source software and can be operated on its own servers.

The Umbrella software project has existed since October 2017.

properties

Umbrella is written entirely in object-oriented PHP . A simple framework is written in it, with which the individual modules are implemented. Users can choose from 3 simple designs. These designs are also suitable for mobile devices; Users can create their own CSS themes.

Umbrella uses an intuitive user interface, but for the sake of broad browser support it completely dispenses with Ajax elements and largely without JavaScript . The software supports distributed teams when working with projects, tasks, files and bookmarks . In addition, Voice over IP conferences can be held fully encrypted by an external service provider .

The software offers options for time recording and accounting. Furthermore, it is possible for every user to display the interface in one of the available translations.
