Erik Černák (* 28. May 1997 in Košice ) is a Slovak ice hockey player who since February 2017 with the Tampa Bay Lightning in the National Hockey League is under contract and in parallel for their farm team , the Syracuse Crunch in the American Hockey League for use comes.
Career
Erik Černák was born in Košice and ran there in his youth for the youth departments of HC Košice . For the 2012/13 season he moved to HC Slovan Bratislava , who should select him in the KHL Junior Draft 2014 in 14th position. Before that, however, the defender returned to HC Košice after a year in the Slovak capital, for whose professional team he finally made his debut in the Extra League in the 2013/14 season . At the same time, he continued to play for the Slovak U20 national team, which took part in the Extraliga under the name of HK Orange 20 and with whom he had already played in the second-class first division last year. At the end of the 2013/14 season he won the Slovak championship with Košice , which he was able to defend with the team the following year.
Then considered him Los Angeles Kings in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft , so that it for season 2015/16 to North America in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) with the Erie Otters changed. Černák had previously signed an entry-level contract with the Kings in July 2015 . With the Erie Otters, the defender won the J. Ross Robertson Cup in the 2017 playoffs , before the team reached the final in the subsequent Memorial Cup and lost to the Windsor Spitfires . For the season 2017/18 the Slovak eventually switched in North America in the professional sector, where he has been for the Syracuse Crunch in the American Hockey League comes (AHL) is used, the farm team of the Tampa Bay Lightning . The defender then took part in four consecutive U20 World Championships with the U20 national team of his home country between 2014 and 2017 , with the team winning the bronze medal in 2015 .
The defender made his debut for the Slovak national team during the 2017/18 season. He completed his first major international tournament with the 2019 World Cup .
