Career
youth
Cédric Paquette was born in Gaspé and attended the private Collège Notre-Dame in Rivière-du-Loup, about 600 kilometers away . For his ice hockey team, the Collège Notre-Dame Albatros , he played from 2008 to 2011 at the highest level (Midget AAA) in the age group under 18. In 2010 he was won by the Montréal Juniors in the Entry Draft of the Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec (LHJMQ ) was selected in 89th position and has therefore played in one of the highest junior leagues in Canada since spring 2011 .
At the beginning of the 2011/12 season, the Juniors moved to Boisbriand and henceforth operated as Armada de Blainville-Boisbriand . For this, the center reached 48 scorer points in 63 games in its LHJMQ debut season and was selected at the end of the season by the Tampa Bay Lightning in 101st position in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft . In his second year in Boisbriand he led the Armada as assistant captain and increased his personal statistics significantly to 83 points scorer in 63 games.
Tampa Bay Lightning
Because of these achievements, Paquette signed an entry-level contract with the Lightning in May 2013 . This gave him directly to the Syracuse Crunch , the farm team from the American Hockey League (AHL), where he came to three playoffs at the end of the season. With the 2013/14 season, the center established itself in the crunch and scored 44 points from 70 AHL games. As a result, the Lightning appointed him in April 2014 for the first time in the NHL squad, after which he made his debut in the National Hockey League . He also took part in the four playoff games against the Canadiens de Montréal , all of which were lost .
With the 2014/15 season Paquette established himself in the NHL squad, where he managed a hat trick against the Detroit Red Wings in January 2015 .
