The 2013/14 season was the 21st regular staging of the highest Slovak ice hockey league , the Tipsport Extraliga . As in the previous season, eleven teams took part in the game, with the Slovak U20 national team again playing out of valuation as HK Orange 20. The Slovak champion was HC Košice , who defeated HK Nitra in the playoff final with 4: 3 wins in the best-of-seven series.

In the main round, each of the ten regular teams play a total of 56 games. The eight best-placed teams qualify for the playoffs in which the champions are played out. In addition to the regular participants, the Slovak U20 national team also competes as a visiting team under the name HK Orange 20 against every league participant in a return leg, whereby the games of the HK Orange 20 are not valued. The last placed in the main round must compete in the relegation against the champions of the 1st division .

Each team receives three points for a win after regular time, two points for a win after overtime or shootout, one point for a loss after overtime or shootout and zero points for a loss after regular time.
