Peter Bartoš began his career as a hockey player in his hometown at MHC Martin , for whom he made his debut in the second Czechoslovak ice hockey league in the 1991/92 season. In the course of the following season, the attacker moved to the first division club HC Dukla Trenčín , for whom he scored five points, including two goals, in 38 games. In the summer of 1993 he returned to his ex-club MHC Martin, which had meanwhile been accepted into the newly founded Slovak extra league . He was then selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2000 in the seventh round as a total of 214 players by the Minnesota Wild , for which he was in the 2000/01 season in 13 games in the National Hockey League on the ice, in which the Slovak six Scorer points, including four goals, scored. The rest of the season he spent, however, with their farm team from the International Hockey League , the Cleveland Lumberjacks .
In the summer of 2001 Bartoš returned to HC České Budějovice in the Czech Republic, for which he ran up in the extra league in the following three years, where he was relegated to the second-rate first division in the 2003/04 season. In this, the right-handed shooter began with Budějovice the following season before he moved to HKm Zvolen , with whom he was subject to HC Slovan Bratislava in the final of the Slovak Championship . The former national player was then signed by HC Košice , with whom he became Slovak champions three times in a row in the 2008/09 , 2009/10 and 2010/11 seasons .
He spent the 2012/13 season at KH Sanok in the Polish Ekstraliga and then returned to HC Košice.
