About brand moss
Ums Brandmoos is a ten kilometer long marked hiking trail in the west of the municipality of Wiesenfelden in the Bavarian Forest Nature Park in the Lower Bavarian district of Straubing-Bogen . It leads past the Brandmoos nature reserve . The section between Wiesenfelden and Schiederhof also belongs to the predicate trail Goldsteig , the Way of St. James and European Route E 8 .
Route
The “Ums Brandmoos” hiking trail is marked no. 5 and is a circular hiking trail with only a few inclines. The average walking time is around three hours. The starting point is at the Beckenweiher in Wiesenfelden. Via Schulstrasse and Falkensteiner Strasse, the path leads via Jägershöfen, Roßmühle to the village of Höhenberg to the mountain of the same name (678 m above sea level ) and through Hochwald to Schiederhof. Rohrloh direction it goes to the fen fire moss over, which was declared by the Government of Lower Bavaria from 1 December 1980 on the conservation area (see. Weblink). Finally, the hiking trail leads past Bogenroith and the St. Rupert Church and then back to the starting point of the hike at the Beckenweiher in Wiesenfelden.
Hiking needles
With a hiking pass, which is available from the municipality of Wiesenfelden, hiking the circular hiking trail “Ums Brandmoos” counts towards the acquisition of hiking badges in bronze, silver or gold (see web link for illustration).
