from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Große Büscherlweg is a 14.5 kilometer long marked hiking trail southeast of the parish village of Wiesenfelden in the Bavarian Forest Nature Park in the Lower Bavarian district of Straubing-Bogen . Part of the route is also part of predicate trail Goldsteig , the Way of St. James and European Route E 8 .

Route

The Große Büscherlweg with the marker no.9 is a circular route. The average walking time is around five hours. The starting point is at the pool pond in the nature reserve Weiherlandschaft near Wiesenfelden . The route continues along Utzenzeller Straße to an old beer cellar , which dates back to the Middle Ages and was used to store beer and ice from the brewery. From there it goes on to a grotto , in which there is a statue of Our Lady . This was built around 1900 by the then lord of the castle as a thank you for recovering from an illness. Via Uttenzell we continue to the Büscherl mountain, which is 740 m above sea level. NNis the highest mountain in the municipality of Wiesenfelden. On top of it there is an unmanaged refuge and a viewing pulpit, which allows a view over the Gäuboden and, in clear weather, as far as the Alps . Via Roth, Siglbrunn, Hirschberg, Grand, Kragnmühl, Kragenroth and Utzenzell, the circular route leads back to the starting point of the hike in Wiesenfelden.

Hiking needles

With a hiking pass, which is available from the municipality of Wiesenfelden, hiking the Großer Büscherlweg is credited towards the acquisition of hiking badges in bronze, silver or gold (see web link for image).
