Converter

A converter is a device that converts one piece of information into another. The form can be a general information form , signal or general data form . Examples are analog-to-digital converters , converters or encoders . Many devices called converters, adapters or transformers are converters in the narrower sense. See also transmission and translation (technology) . There are lossless and lossy converters. Converters are often reversible (irreversibility), but only completely if there is no loss of conversion, e.g. B. digital signal processing .
