Ümürbek Bazarbaýew (born September 17, 1981 in Iljaly , Tashaus Oblast , Turkmen SSR , USSR ) is a former Turkmen weightlifter .

Career

Ümürbek Bazarbaýew took part in the 2004 Summer Olympics, where he finished sixth in the weight class up to 62 kg with 287.5 kg. At the 2008 Summer Olympics , he could not finish the competition. He won the bronze medal at the Asian Championships in 2008 in the category up to 62 kg with a total performance of 296 kg.

At the 2012 Summer Olympics , he again finished sixth with 302 kg in a duel.

Doping ban 2015

Bazarbaýew had tested positive for anabolic steroids at the 2015 IMF World Championships in Houston, Texas and was banned for four years until December 10, 2019.

In 2018 it became known that he had been coaching the national team in Turkmenistan since 2016. a. for Kristina Şermetowa (* 1993) is said to have worked.
