The Independent Voting Community District Borken (short: UWG District Borken, or UWG) is an association of voter groups in the Borken district . The association was founded in 1984. Members are the groups of voters in the municipalities of the district. The UWG has been represented in the district council since 1989 and has since been the third strongest political force behind the CDU and SPD and ahead of the Greens and the Liberals.

The association has the legal form of a registered association (e.V.).

Constituents

  • Independent voter group Ahaus (UWG): In each of the six districts of Ahaus there is a subgroup of the UWG. The UWG Ahaus was established in 1979 as a protest against the fuel element interim storage facility (BEZ) and immediately won 25% and 10 seats in the election for the city council. As early as 1989 she opposed the health problems caused by low-level aircraft noise.
