Unai Expósito Medina (born January 23, 1980 in Barakaldo ) is a Spanish football player .

Career

Unai Expósito joined Athletic Bilbao's youth at the age of eleven . After four years, however, he left the club again for lack of prospects to try his luck at the provincial club Danok Bat . Through his second youth station he found his way to CD Baskonia - a team that can be described as the training team of Athletic Bilbao. After a strong debut season, he finally returned to the top Basque club from Bilbao after four years - albeit initially in the second team.

Although Unai Expósito was able to play two first division games for the Basques in 2000, he remained in the second team. In 2002 he got the chance to develop further and so he was drawn to CD Numancia , where he became a regular player straight away. He spent the next two years mostly on the bench at CA Osasuna , as the competition was just too big. Nevertheless, he returned again to Athletic Bilbao , where he was regularly used in the following three years.

Nevertheless, Expósito moved to Spanish second division Hércules Alicante in the summer of 2008 , and a year later he moved to league rivals FC Cartagena . After two years and over 40 missions, he was poached in the summer of 2011 by the second division CD Numancia , where he was already active in the 2002/03 season.
