Underground Sunshine was an American rock band from Montello . It was founded by the German brothers Bert and Frank Kohl. Her first single, a cover version of the Beatles song Birthday , reached number 26 on the Billboard Hot 100 . This was followed by a television appearance on the popular television show American Bandstand and the release of the band's only album, which was able to place at number 161 on the US album charts. After three more singles could not place themselves in the charts, the formation broke up in 1970.
