União de Freguesias de Serpa (Salvador e Santa Maria) , Serpa for short (Salvador e Santa Maria) is a municipality ( Freguesia ) in the Portuguese district ( Concelho ) of Serpa , in the Alentejo region . It includes the urban area of ​​the small town ( Vila ) Serpa.

The community has 6,233 inhabitants and an area of ​​443.15 km² (as of June 30, 2011).

It was created in the course of the regional reform in Portugal on September 29, 2013 through the merger of the two municipalities of Salvador and Santa Maria . The seat of the new community was Salvador.
