For the 10th floorball world championship in 2014 in Gothenburg , Sweden , several qualifying tournaments were held, in which all teams except the host participated for the first time. The qualifying tournaments took place from January 28th to February 2nd, 2014.
Host Sweden are directly qualified for the final round in Gothenburg. The remaining 30 teams played in continental qualifying tournaments for the other 15 starting places. The places were distributed as follows:
Four tournaments were played in Europe. They qualified for the finals
the two best-placed teams
the two best third place finishers of all European qualifying tournaments.
Since the tournament groups consisted of five and six participants, the games against the last placed team were not taken into account when determining the best third place in the groups of six. The following criteria then applied:

Group 1 games took place in Łochów ( Poland ) from January 29 to February 2, 2014 .
The games of the American qualifying group found from January 31 to February 1 in Markham ( Canada instead). The two best-placed teams qualified for the finals.
The Games of the Asian qualifying group found from January 29 to February 2 Wellington ( New Zealand instead). The top three teams qualified for the finals.
