The United National South West Party (UNSWP), also German United Nationale Südwestpartei and Afrikaans Verenigde Nasionale Suidwes Party (VNSWP), was a political party in South West Africa , today's Namibia . The party was formally founded on January 31, 1927 in Windhoek from an amalgamation of the South West Party , the National Party of South West Africa and the Economic Society . It was dissolved in 1975.
The party wanted to form an equivalent vote against the German Confederation for South West Africa . She was a great supporter of South West Africa's integration into the South African Union . The party immediately won the 1929 elections for the South West African Legislative Assembly . She also won the subsequent elections in 1934 , 1940 and 1945 .
From the late 1940s onwards, numerous party members emigrated to the new National Party of South West Africa founded on July 28, 1939 . This then won the elections for the first time in 1950 .
