The elections to the South West African Legislative Assembly in 1950 were the sixth (of nine) elections in the Mandate South West Africa . They took place on August 30, 1950.

The right to vote had been modified compared to the previous elections. Elections were now made in eighteen (instead of the previous twelve) one-person constituencies. Instead, the previous rule was deleted that the South African administrator of the mandate area appointed six more MPs. Only the white inhabitants were entitled to vote, not the black majority of the population. The residents of German descent living in South West Africa were released from internment camps to South Africa in 1946.

In addition to the United National South West Party (UNSWP), which won the last election, the elections for the South West African Legislative Assembly in 1945 , a new party came to power with the National Party of South West Africa (NPSWA).
