The elections to the South West African Legislative Assembly in 1955 were the seventh (of nine) elections in the Mandate South West Africa . They took place on November 16, 1955.

The right to vote was unchanged from the last election. Eighteen one-person constituencies were elected. Only the white inhabitants were entitled to vote, not the black majority of the population.

In addition to the National Party of South West Africa (National Party of SWA) that the last elections, the elections to the South West African Legislative Assembly in 1950 had won, joined again the United National South West Party ( English UNSWP , Afrikaans VNSWP on). The Economic League (EL) ran for election in one constituency .

A total of 26,319 votes were cast, 10,735 of which went to the UNSWP and 15,484 to the National Party of South-West Africa. The UNSWP won 2, the SWANP 16 mandates.
