The parliamentary elections in Namibia in 1994 were held between December 4th and 5th, 1994. A total of 654,189 eligible voters were able to choose from the eight Namibian parties . It was the first parliamentary election since independence in 1990.

For the first time, as part of innovations in the electoral system, voters were allowed to cast their votes outside of their constituency. In addition, eligible voters residing abroad could also take part in the vote.

Election campaign

The election campaign suffered from a lack of funds. The few election events that were held were poorly attended.

During the election it became clear that Namibia was developing more and more into a one-party state. SWAPO expanded its lead by twelve seats. Nevertheless, the election was free and fair and could be carried out without major incidents. The opposition only appealed the result because of several minor problems.
