The elections to the South West African Legislative Assembly in 1930 were the eighth (of nine) elections in the Mandate South West Africa . They took place on March 8, 1961.

The right to vote was unchanged from the last election. Eighteen one-person constituencies were elected. Only the white inhabitants were entitled to vote, not the black majority of the population.

In addition to the National Party of South West Africa (NPSWA), which had won the last election, the elections for the South West African Legislative Assembly in 1955 , the United National South West Party (UNSWP) again ran. The South West Party (SWP) ran for the first time .

A total of 32,576 votes were cast, 11,414 of which went to the UNSWP and 19,360 to the National Party of South-West Africa. The UNSWP won 2, the SWANP 16 mandates.
