Regional council elections in Namibia 2004
The 2004 regional council elections in Namibia took place on November 29th and 30th, 2004. As a result, the South West African People's Organization emerged as the strongest party and was able to hold its majority in the vast majority of the 107 constituencies in Namibia .
Out of a total of 977,742 eligible voters, a total of 523,092 votes were cast in the election , which corresponds to a turnout of 53.5%.
Each of the thirteen regions has a regional local government: the regional council . This government is composed of the regional councilors - each representing one constituency. These regional council members (of all thirteen regional council governments) each appoint two regional councils per region as regional representatives in the National Council in Windhoek .
In addition to this regional council election, presidential and parliamentary elections were held on November 15 and 16, 2004 .
