Presidential election in Namibia 1999
The 1999 presidential election in Namibia took place on November 30th and December 1st, 1999. As a result, Sam Nujoma was confirmed in office as President of Namibia .
Out of a total of 878,869 eligible voters, a total of 545,465 votes were cast in the election , which corresponds to a turnout of 62.1%. The number of actually valid votes was 539,024. The Namibian Institute for Democracy , among others, acted as election observers .
The parliamentary elections also took place on these two days parallel to this presidential election .

Sam Nujoma was able to increase his share of the vote compared to the previous presidential election in 1994 , where he received 76.34%.
