The 1977 referendum in South West Africa was a constitutional referendum in South West Africa on May 18, 1977. Only white residents of the area were allowed to participate in the referendum . 94.69 percent of the participants approved the proposal for the provisional constitution of the gym conference . The turnout was just under 65 percent.
