David Espinoza (born January 14, 1989 in Miami ) is a former American track cyclist who starts in the short-term disciplines.

Athletic career

From the age of twelve, David Espinoza was active as a cyclist, initially on track and road . After a year he “fell in love”, he said, with track cycling and decided to become a sprinter . He trained at the Valley Preferred Cycling Center . In 2012 he graduated in Nuclear Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University from.

2006 Espinoza had his first success on a national basis when he finished third in the U23 1000 meter time trial at the US Track Championships . In the following years he took several podium places at national championships. In 2014 he became champion for the first time, with Matthew Baranoski and Danny Robertson in the team sprint , the following year he was able to repeat this success with Baranoski and James Mellen .

In 2016, David Espinoza won two titles: he was US sprint champion and, for the third time, team sprint with James Alvord and James Mellen .
